Subject: Drexel introduces new “Upstairs Neighbor Studies” major
Date: Wed, 01 Apr 2026

With the upcoming academic transformation, Drexel will be going through a multitude of transitions and changes with the goal of improving the university’s quality of education and its general academic renown. To support these new academic goals, the university has announced a new cutting-edge program with the aim of becoming an ideal destination for the most distinguished scholars.

The recently announced “Upstairs Neighbor Studies” program will begin to be offered starting in the fall of 2027 with the start of the semester system.

The new program reflects Drexel’s commitment to innovation and aims to become the premier location for this emerging industry. Upstairs Neighbor Studies teaches students all the necessary tools to prepare themselves for careers in this rather competitive field, which has seen drastic growth in recent years due to the ever-increasing cost of housing across the nation and the subsequent boom in rental units.

In fact, a recent study from the National Board of Upstairs Awareness found that there is a 95% chance that your next upstairs neighbor will be implementing new and innovative techniques to maximize obnoxiousness. Drexel’s city campus also makes the university an ideal location for such a program, with many opportunities for students to implement the skills and tools they will gain throughout their studies.

This program will offer several exciting new courses that cover topics such as indoor bowling, just how loud can you make a JBL speaker, scooting a wooden chair back and forth for 15 minutes, poorly playing the drums, and how to throw the loudest party you can right before midterms. The program has drawn in several notable industry experts as professors for these classes, such as renowned upstairs neighbor Jack King-Hoft, author of “Bed Creaking and Success Peaking: A study of Loud Sex at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday” and “Dropping the ball, and make it 20 pounds”.

Drexel administration hopes that Upstairs Neighbor Studies will become a major draw to the university and will help address the decreasing admission rate, and only time will tell if this will come to fruition.

The program has plans to work with employers at both the local and national levels to offer a wide range of co-op and internship opportunities for students to bring their knowledge from the classroom to the real world, and maybe even the apartment right above you.
